WVFF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
PROJECT HEALING WATERS We are continuing our effort to be a PHW support group. We will be meeting with the Wenatchee VA Clinic manager and his staff to present the PHW goals. We know that we will need several volunteers for the VA Clinic activities. Our earlier tasks may include talking about fly fishing, fly tying, casting, etc. The Clinic staff and patients will set the pace and select the topics. Did anyone see the August Reader’s Digest article on PHW? The article is very inspiring. Please call Rick to help out. This is a great cause. Rick Thompson 884-2718 SALMON FEST SEPT 20-21 AT LEAVENWORTH HATCHERY Circle the dates of 9/20-21 on your calendars to be at the Leavenworth National Hatchery. We will need lots of volunteers teaching kids how to tie Wooly Buggers. Based on last year’s attendance (160 kids & parents), we could expect up to 200 kids to show up at our booths. Last year we learned that it takes one adult to help each child. With the club’s six tying vices and tools, we would like to have six adults for each hour of tying. If you want to use your own tying setup, that is fine. Gary Anderson can also use help with his great displays and live bugs. Last year was terrific fun for all our volunteers.
